What is the Cause of Hair Loss in Women and Can Anything Be Done About It?

Although predominantly thought of as a male problem, hair loss in women is quite a common occurrence. In fact it is thought that as many as 1 in 4 women suffer from some kind of hair loss or thinning hair; and while for men although it can be embarrassing, for women it can have a devastating effect as hair plays such a big part in how a woman presents herself to the world. But, what is the cause of hair loss in women?

The first area that could be the cause could be lifestyle. If you are experiencing thinning hair take a step back and look at how things are going; are you under a lot of pressure or feeling stressed? What about your diet are you eating plenty of fruit and veg to ensure you are getting all the vitamins you need? If not then this may be the place you should start looking at first before taking any other action.

Another area to consider is the way you wear your hair, do you often have it tied back tightly, or use a lot of bleach or other such chemicals on your hair? That could be behind it too, as could the shampoo that you use especially if it contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate. This works as a cleanser and a degreaser but can actually thin your hair as well.

If none of the above are really applicable then your thinning hair is probably the caused by one of the following two things:-

I)Hormones - If you are going through the menopause or have been unfortunate enough to have to undergo a hysterectomy then hormones can play a huge part in thinning hair. The reason for this is because your body is producing less estrogen: normally you will produce both estrogen and testosterone but the estrogen acts like a barrier and keeps the testosterone under control, however without that barrier it is free to roam around the body and can become DHT which effects the roots in your scalp.

II)Hereditary - As well as men becoming bald through their genes, so can women and the genes can be passed down from either parent and this leaves you with what is known as androgenetic alopecia which is basically hereditary thinning.

So can anything be done to help restore the hair? Well in the case of menopausal women sometimes HRT can help but other than that a common route is either a transplant or a weave which are both expensive and painful. However it is now becoming recognized that there are natural alternatives that can help not only stop the heir thinning but also help to kick start hair growth, and these are things like Minoxidil, vitamins B6, magnesium and folic acid to name but a few, and the results from people using supplements containing these vitamins minerals and herbs are very encouraging.

Diet Plan For Women and Men - All Day Eating You Both Can Agree With

A diet plan for women and men doesn't have to separate them to different menus. Woman store more fat than men and men have more muscle than women. These differences don't mean that they cannot eat the same thing to lose weight. Metabolic types differ but many things in this instance can work to the advantage of both men and women. Women naturally will want to decrease their portion size as opposed to a man's, but they can still enjoy the same things together. If you and your partner are eating together then that gives you some incentive to spice up your meal plans outside of the ordinary.

When men and women want to lose weight, they have similar needs. They both must watch what they eat, and they both must boost their metabolism. This can't be done in a wise and healthy fashion if your environment is filled with foods that have made you overweight in the past.

Couples are doing this together have an advantage. The support group is small but it is there, when two partners are working towards the same goal. Men and women have different tastes, but there is plenty of room available for common ground. Talk with one another to decide what will come into the home and what will go. Create an environment that will support these lifestyle changes.

Women and men will disagree on choices here and there but essentially must focus on feeding their metabolism. By firing up your metabolism multiple times a day, you will work to burn the fat off for men and women. One thing that is unanimously agreed upon is the presence of progress.

Plan your meals together. Bring in lean proteins that you both enjoy. Certain seafoods that are aphrodisiacs contain protein and can excite couples, and can be used to construct effective meal plans. Healthy complex carbs, whole grains, healthy "good fat" choices, vegetables, and leafy greens must be used to create schedules that you both can follow.

Get together with you partner to schedule having protein throughout the day. Create your meals together. If you are eating the same things together you make it easier on each other. When you have one focus and one meal together you are working to simplify your lives and burn fat all at once.

Men may want to want to eat meat all day, and women may not. You should always keep things in good measure. Fellas should try and compromise and have other proteins like nuts for those "in between" snacks. Separate your meals three hours apart. Place veggies and fruits in all your meals. Creating plans like these will leave little room for things like fast food and junk. Have sweet potatoes for your carbs for lunch, and dress up your red potatoes at dinner time, just watch the toppings carefully.
